Kingston Wharves Launches Auto Logistics Centre

first_img Kingston Wharves Limited (KWL) on Friday (December 15) officially launched its Global Auto Logistics Centre, providing a one-stop facility for the warehousing of cars for domestic distribution and for markets throughout the region. He informed that the pilot training school at Tinson Pen is to be relocated to Vernamfield in Clarendon to support the logistics development at the port of Kingston. Story Highlights Located on lands at Tinson Pen, the facility will enable the provision of regional logistics services to new multinational clients, and additional services in supply chain logistics. It will facilitate the removal of on-port motor-vehicle storage. It will facilitate the removal of on-port motor-vehicle storage.During the launch ceremony, Transport and Mining Minister, Hon. Mike Henry, signed and handed over the lease arrangements for the Tinson Pen lands.The Minister commended Kingston Wharves on the opening of the facility and invited the investment community to capitalise on the vast opportunities in logistics.He informed that the pilot training school at Tinson Pen is to be relocated to Vernamfield in Clarendon to support the logistics development at the port of Kingston.In addition to the auto centre, KWL has invested in a Total Logistics Facility, comprising 160,000 square feet of space, which will provide for swift movement of cargo, thereby improving ease of doing business.KWL is the Caribbean’s leading multipurpose port terminal and logistics provider, serving the region and the world with a suite of customisable services ranging from mixed cargo handling to warehousing. Harvey, devoted mother of Liane Harvey of Lowell, Diane Maxwell & her husband Dennis, Russell Harvey all of W. Warren, MA, Keila Bartlett of Gilead, ME and the late Donna Harvey Bechard, loving grandmother of Darja, Rachel, Joe, Michelle, Lisa, Steven, Michael, Nicole and Meredith, great-grandmother of Corah, Calli, Audrey, Lionel, Jacob, Mila and the late Sophie, cherished daughter of the late Elwood and Laura (Lavoie) Howe, dear sister of the late Elwood “Sonny” Howe, Robert Howe, Alan Howe and Paulette Kelleher. Beverly is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Service at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Friday, April 12th at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery.
